Lead Dentist - North Shore 4086441

Location: East Coast Bays, North Shore, Auckland
Employment Type: Permanent
Qualifications: BDS, DCNZ Reg and APC
Reference: 40686441
Job Experience: 5+ Years

A well-established Auckland practice known for its care of nervous patients is bringing its brand to an established practice in the East Coast Bays, and is looking for experienced general dentists to grow it with them. From two days a week to five, the role can be shaped around the right person, backed by 20 years of proven systems and a full management team.

About the practice and the role:

  • 2 to 5 days a week, with the role shaped around the right person
  • Modern, well-designed multi-surgery clinic with an existing patient base, set among local shops and services
  • Runs on the main practice's established brand, systems and processes
  • Care for nervous patients is at the heart of the practice, with nitrous and IV sedation part of everyday dentistry (600+ hours of sedation a year at the main practice)
  • Comprehensive general dentistry, with clinical autonomy and room to develop your own interests
  • Clinical support from an experienced principal dentist and the main practice's associate dentists, oral health therapists and clinical dental technician
  • Dedicated management team handles staffing, admin, systems and marketing
  • Remuneration: 40% commission less lab fees, plus a growth-linked bonus for a dentist keen to help grow the practice
  • Optional pathway to partial ownership of the practice, alongside partners who stay active in the business. Dentists wanting a long-term clinical role are equally welcome
  • Start date: early 2027, with flexibility for the right person

About you:

  • Solid experience in general practice and the confidence to work independently, with support there when you need it
  • Sound clinical judgement across comprehensive general dentistry
  • Confident planning and discussing treatment with patients
  • A calm, considerate approach, particularly with nervous patients
  • Formal sedation training highly regarded, even if hands-on experience is still limited, and the practice will help you build it. If you're interested but not yet trained, clinical skill development is supported once formal training is complete
  • Interested in building long-term patient relationships
  • Warm chairside manner and enjoy working as part of a team

About the region: The East Coast Bays on Auckland's North Shore offer beaches, coastal walks and a relaxed, family-friendly lifestyle, with the city an easy drive away.
